Pete Davidson is officially stepping into fatherhood — and he couldn’t be happier about it. Appearing on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, the comedian opened up about his girlfriend Elsie Hewitt’s pregnancy, proudly announcing, “I did it!” to a round of applause. But behind the jokes, Davidson got candid: “Anybody who knows me knows it’s been my dream to be a dad. I’m so excited.”
Davidson praised Hewitt, saying he can’t wait to see her as a mother and that the news has put everything into perspective. “Everything else doesn’t really matter anymore,” he added. Hewitt confirmed the pregnancy just days ago on Instagram with a cheeky caption and a glimpse at their ultrasound, making the news official to fans.
Beyond fatherhood, Davidson also talked about sobriety, his new horror movie The Home, and the surprisingly real eye featured in its poster. But all of that took a backseat to the biggest role of his life: becoming a dad. “I’m just stoked,” he said. “I hope to be the dad I always wanted.”
