BMW is marking five decades of the legendary 3 Series with a special edition made exclusively for Canada. The M340i xDrive 50 Jahre Edition celebrates the model’s 50-year legacy through a curated color range drawn from every generation of the beloved sports sedan — from the E21 to the current G20.

The six heritage-inspired shades — Madeira Red, Laguna Green, Avus Blue, Carbon Black, Deep Green, and Citrin Black — all come from BMW’s Individual catalog, giving the car a bespoke character. Completing the look are 20-inch Y-spoke forged alloys, an M exhaust system, and subtle 50 Jahre Edition emblems.

Inside, the cabin features Merino leather upholstery in black or white and brushed metal plaques commemorating the anniversary. Beneath the hood, the turbocharged 3.0-liter inline-six engine remains unchanged, producing 386 hp and 398 lb-ft of torque, good for a 0–100 km/h sprint in just 4.3 seconds.

With production limited to only 100 examples, this tribute edition serves as a bridge between the 3 Series’ storied past and its electric Neue Klasse future — a collector’s piece that nods to 50 years of driving passion in true BMW fashion.
