Microsoft, Nvidia and Anthropic have unveiled a sweeping partnership that tightens their ties across cloud, chips and frontier models. Anthropic will scale its Claude AI systems on Microsoft Azure, powered by Nvidia hardware, with a commitment to buy up to 30 billion dollars in Azure compute and reserve as much as one gigawatt of capacity on next generation Nvidia platforms.
As part of the deal, Nvidia and Microsoft plan to invest up to 10 billion and 5 billion dollars respectively in Anthropic. Claude models will be more widely available to Azure enterprise customers and integrated across Microsoft’s Copilot products and Foundry tools, giving businesses another high end model option inside Microsoft’s ecosystem.
The agreement also deepens the technical collaboration between Anthropic and Nvidia, with joint work on optimizing Claude for current and future Nvidia architectures. Even with this expanded work on Azure, Anthropic will continue to use Amazon as its primary cloud and training partner, meaning Claude will sit across all three leading hyperscale clouds.
