Apple is ramping up production in Vietnam as it prepares to enter the smart home market with a series of new products. According to Bloomberg, the company is developing an indoor security camera, a smart display designed to control home appliances, and a tabletop robot equipped with sensors and motors, expected to debut by 2027.
This move highlights Apple’s broader strategy to reduce manufacturing reliance on China and diversify its global supply chain. The upcoming smart home devices will complement Apple’s existing ecosystem, integrating seamlessly with iPhones and HomeKit systems. The Vietnam expansion also signals Apple’s intent to compete more directly with Amazon and Google in the growing home automation space.
The first wave of products, including the home hub display, is expected in 2026, while the tabletop robot will follow the next year.
