Apple has clinched a landmark five-year deal to broadcast Formula 1 in the United States, valued at roughly $750 million, marking the tech giant’s biggest push yet into live sports. Beginning in 2026, all Apple TV subscribers in the U.S. will gain access to live coverage of every F1 session and exclusive F1 TV content at no extra cost beyond their standard subscription.
The agreement—Apple’s first foray into top-tier sports rights—follows its success with Major League Soccer and coincides with surging U.S. interest in F1, boosted by Netflix’s Drive to Survive and Apple’s blockbuster Brad Pitt-led F1 film. That movie, which grossed over $630 million, was reportedly a major factor in sealing the deal.
F1 Chairman Stefano Domenicali hailed the partnership as a step toward expanding the sport’s American footprint, while Apple’s Eddy Cue said the company aims to deliver “premium, fan-first coverage” and expects the partnership to grow beyond its initial five-year term. Apple’s broadcast plans will initially use commentary from F1 TV or Sky Sports, and future international expansion is already under consideration.
