Jimmy Kimmel is set to return to late-night television Tuesday, just days after ABC pulled Jimmy Kimmel Live! in response to comments he made about Charlie Kirk’s death.
Disney, ABC’s parent company, said it suspended production last week to prevent further inflaming a tense national moment, calling Kimmel’s remarks “ill-timed and insensitive.” After several days of private discussions with the host, the network said it reached the decision to bring the show back.
The suspension had sparked backlash, with entertainment unions condemning the move as censorship. Federal Communications Commission Chair Brendan Carr had publicly pressured ABC to act, while Kimmel himself has not commented on either the suspension or the announcement of his return.
