Gwyneth Paltrow Joins Astronomer After Viral Coldplay Scandal

Gwyneth Paltrow has stepped in as a “very temporary” spokesperson for tech company Astronomer, just days after its CEO and chief people officer resigned following a viral Coldplay concert moment.
In a playful Instagram video shared by the company, Paltrow delivers a mock-serious message, saying she’s been hired to speak on behalf of Astronomer’s 300+ employees. While the video doesn’t mention the controversy directly, it lightly nods to the media frenzy.
The viral moment began at a Boston Coldplay concert when frontman Chris Martin joked, “Either they’re having an affair, or they’re just very shy,” after two audience members—later identified as Astronomer execs—were caught embracing on the Jumbotron.
Both executives resigned shortly after, and the company has since leaned into the chaos with humor. Paltrow’s appearance, especially as Martin’s ex-wife, adds a perfectly ironic twist to the company’s unexpected PR moment.
