As summer approaches, so does one of the most eagerly anticipated events in the shopping world—Amazon Prime Day. Although it’s only been a little over a month since Amazon’s Big Spring Sale, the giant is gearing up for its major annual event, Prime Day. Celebrating its 10th iteration this year, Prime Day has grown from a one-day event into a full-blown 48-hour event packed with some of the best deals of the year. Here’s everything we know so far about Prime Day 2024.
Prime Day began in 2015 as a celebration of Amazon’s 20th anniversary, initially conceived as a 24-hour sale exclusive to Amazon Prime subscribers. It has since expanded into a 48-hour event that sees significant discounts across a wide range of products, from tech gadgets to everyday essentials. Last year, shoppers enjoyed bargains on everything from the latest Apple products and high-end TVs to robot vacuums and Amazon’s own devices.
The exact dates of Prime Day 2024 have yet to be announced (we will keep you updated on this). However, Amazon has confirmed that it will take place in July, maintaining the tradition of previous years. Based on past events, we anticipate it might occur from early to mid-July. To give you an idea, last year’s 2023 Prime Day was held from July 11 to 12. Moreover, Amazon typically begins offering early access deals a few weeks prior, which last year started on June 21.
Prime Day deals are exclusive to Amazon Prime members, including those who are on a free trial during the event. If you're not a member yet, you can sign up for a 30-day free trial close to the event’s commencement to take advantage of the deals. Just remember to cancel the trial if you decide not to continue with a paid subscription to avoid any charges.
Prime Day has transcended borders, bringing the excitement of big savings to numerous countries around the world. As of the latest event, Prime Day deals were available in the following countries:
Many other large retailers now time their sales events to coincide with Prime Day, which is great for shoppers because it increases competition. Examples of similar sales events from the previous year include Best Buy's "Black Friday in July" sale, which occurred at the same time as Prime Day, and substantial sales at Walmart and Target.
With the annual membership fee now at $139—up 17% from last year—consumers frequently question the value of Amazon Prime. Despite the price increase, the benefits can outweigh the cost for regular users. Prime members enjoy free two-day shipping on countless items and access to Prime Video’s extensive library, Prime Music, Prime Gaming, and Prime Reading. Additionally, members get unlimited photo storage and a free year of Grubhub+, valued at around $120.
Keep checking back for more information as we get closer to Prime Day 2024 so you can make the most of the sales. Whether you are an old Prime member or just thinking about signing up, you will not want to miss this event because it is going to have the best sales on all kinds of products.
