Canada’s Wonderland is tightening rules ahead of its Halloween Haunt, introducing a new chaperone policy for teens. Beginning Sept. 26, guests under 15 will not be admitted or allowed to remain in the park after 6 p.m. without an adult chaperone aged 21 or older. Chaperones must stay inside the park and be available by phone throughout the visit.

Park officials say the change comes in response to rising incidents of unruly behaviour at major entertainment venues. Teens over 16 could also be asked to show valid ID to confirm their age, with entry denied if they fail to provide it. Online reactions have been mixed — some praising the move as overdue, others frustrated by the added restrictions and ID requirements.

Additional rules for Halloween Haunt include stricter bag size limits, costume restrictions for guests under 11, no re-entry after leaving the park, and a ban on filming scare actors inside mazes. The park has also introduced a new $10 fee for maze access, a change already sparking pushback from some visitors.
