Benoit Blanc is back on the case. Netflix has confirmed that the third film in Rian Johnson’s hit whodunnit franchise will be titled Wake Up Dead Man, with Daniel Craig reprising his role as the sharp but eccentric detective. Johnson teased the new chapter as Blanc’s “most dangerous case yet,” hinting at a darker tone for the follow-up to Knives Out (2019) and Glass Onion (2022).

Like Agatha Christie’s mysteries that inspired them, each Blanc story introduces a fresh cast, new setting, and entirely new crime to unravel. This time, Johnson has assembled an ensemble including Glenn Close, Kerry Washington, Andrew Scott, Josh O’Connor, Jeremy Renner, Mila Kunis, Josh Brolin, and Daryl McCormack — all keeping their roles tightly under wraps. Filming wrapped last summer, with Johnson praising the “incredible cast” and “special shoot” as production concluded.

The title, borrowed from a U2 song released in 1997, continues the series’ tradition of drawing inspiration from music. With its premiere set for December 12, 2025, Wake Up Dead Man promises another stylish, star-studded puzzle — and one that could push Blanc into even more dangerous territory than ever before.
