Tesla Debuts a Redesigned Model Y in US, While Keeping the Older One Around

Tesla has introduced its “Launch Series” Model Y in the US, priced at $59,990 before any tax breaks. This new version features upgraded headlights, a bigger touchscreen in the back seat, improved sound insulation, and a special camera to boost driver-assist features. It also comes with an Acceleration Boost and Full Self-Driving (Supervised) built in.
In a surprising twist, Tesla is still selling the older Model Y at a slightly lower price. That means shoppers can pick the new design and extras or stick with the previous model if they want to spend a bit less. The revamped Model Y is set for delivery starting in March, while the older model is available right now.
Some believe these changes might help Tesla bounce back from a recent dip in brand image. By offering a fancier model at a premium and the classic version at a discount, Tesla hopes to attract both buyers hungry for the latest features and those who prefer a more budget-friendly option.
