The Keepers of Balance is an escape room located in Charlotte, North Carolina, known for its intricately designed challenges that test both mental and physical abilities of participants. As part of their branding and marketing efforts, The Keepers of Balance sought to create a website that not only represented the adventurous and mysterious spirit of their escape rooms but also engaged potential customers with a visually appealing and interactive design. The website needed to mirror the adventurous, mysterious, and challenging nature of the escape rooms, creating an intuitive and engaging user interface that encourages visitors to explore and book escape rooms. Additionally, it was essential to update the typography, color palette, and integrate background textures and animations to modernize the brand's digital presence.

Brand Vision chose a combination of Giest Variable and Barlow for the website’s typography to capture the dynamic and unpredictable nature of the escape room challenges with Giest Variable's versatility and modern appeal, while Barlow's clean and approachable design ensured readability and provided a balance. This combination created a visually engaging hierarchy, enhancing readability while maintaining the adventurous spirit of the brand. The new color palette incorporated hints of gold to evoke a sense of mystery, luxury, and challenge, highlighting key elements such as calls to action and important information. This use of gold added elegance and intrigue, aligning the website with the brand’s theme.

To further immerse visitors in the world of The Keepers of Balance, Brand Vision designed custom background textures reminiscent of ancient maps and mysterious artifacts, and integrated interactive elements like animated locks, keys, and puzzle pieces, providing a tactile sense of the escape room experience. These elements made the website more immersive and interactive, encouraging visitors to engage more deeply with the content.

Animations were used strategically to enhance the design elements without overwhelming the user. Subtle movements, such as the slow fade-in of text, gentle pulsing of buttons, and interactive hover effects on images and icons, were employed to create a seamless experience. Additionally, interactive feedback elements that responded to user interactions, like brief animations triggered by clicking a button, made the site feel responsive and alive. These animations added a dynamic layer to the website, making the navigation experience smooth and engaging while emphasizing important actions and information.
