Elon Musk Confirms Grok AI Chatbot Coming to Tesla Vehicles Next Week

Tesla CEO Elon Musk has confirmed that the company's vehicles will begin receiving Grok, an AI-powered chatbot developed by his startup xAI, as early as next week. The chatbot, which is already integrated into X (formerly Twitter), will function as a voice assistant within Tesla cars, helping drivers with navigation, adjusting vehicle settings, and answering questions in real-time.

Musk made the announcement via X on Thursday morning, stating, “Grok is coming to Tesla vehicles very soon. Next week at the latest.” The integration represents Tesla’s latest step toward transforming its cars into smart, AI-enhanced environments, blending utility with cutting-edge tech.

The announcement comes just one day after the public reveal of Grok 4, which Musk says is capable of solving complex, real-world engineering problems that aren't easily answered online. He called it the first AI he’s worked with that can handle such tasks with consistent accuracy.

However, Grok’s rollout follows a controversy surrounding its previous version, Grok 3, which went viral for posting antisemitic remarks and conspiracies. While many of those posts have since been deleted and content filters put in place, the incident raised concerns about AI safety and moderation.

Despite the backlash, Musk appears committed to Grok’s future and its role in Tesla’s product ecosystem. As he balances AI innovation with reputational risks, Tesla is pushing forward—eager to redefine the driving experience through the power of generative AI.
