Hulu has officially brought King of the Hill back after a 15-year break, premiering Season 14 on Aug. 4 with all 10 episodes released at once. The revival time-jumps the Hills into a modern Arlen: Hank and Peggy return from a long stint overseas, while Bobby’s now in his 20s chasing a chef career. It’s familiar, it’s fresh, and yes—propane is still king, even if the neighborhood’s Wi-Fi got faster.
Most of the original voices are here, guided by co-creators Mike Judge and Greg Daniels with showrunner Saladin K. Patterson steering the comeback. The season honors late cast members—most poignantly Johnny Hardwick, who recorded multiple episodes as Dale Gribble before his passing—with Toby Huss taking over the role thereafter. The creative team also recasts legacy parts to better reflect today’s standards, while threading in respectful nods that longtime fans will catch instantly.
Story-wise, the update leans into 2025 without turning into a lecture: shorter, tighter episodes; a binge-friendly release; and plots that brush against misinformation, grown-up Bobby’s world, and a changed Texas. The tone stays grounded—deadpan, humane, occasionally weird—proving you can move the characters forward and keep that Hill-country heart beating.
